Avianews: The Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air in autumn 2019 will launch flights to seven new destinations: six from Odesa and one from Lviv, Paulina Gosk, corporate communications manager at Wizz Air, reads the announcement on Avianews website.
It is planned that from Odesa flights will be operated to Budapest (Hungary), Berlin (Germany), Bratislava (Slovakia), Wroclaw, Gdansk, and Katowice (all are in Poland) twice a week starting in November .
The new destinations of Wizz Air partially overlap with the flights previously announced by Ryanair. The Irish Locost is already flying from Odessa to Krakow, and plans to launch flights to Berlin, Wroclaw, Gdansk, Katowice and Poznan in autumn. Thus, the airlines will have four joint routes in Odessa.
Now Wizz Air operates flights from three Ukrainian cities – Kyiv, Kharkiv and Lviv – for 46 routes to 13 countries.
In January-July 2019, low-cost carriers carried about 1300,000 passengers, which is almost twice as much as in the same period last year.
