Ralf- Gerhard Haska is a pastor of the Lutheran Church of St. Catherine in Kyiv. In the winter 2013 – 2014, he actively supported people on the Independence Square and supported their right to peaceful protests against the former government. For the peaceful demonstrators, the German St. Catherine’s Church became a safe and secure place of shelter. And when tensions and dangerous moments occurred when the police acted in a violent manner, the pastor, as a brave defender, protected the people. Time goes by, but good deeds are not forgotten. Recently, the German ambassador to Ukraine, Anka Feldhusen , awarded the pastor the highest civilian reward in Germany – the Cross of Merit.
After the award ceremony, Anka Feldhausen said that Pastor Ralph-Gerhard Haska continues to do good deeds for Ukraine.
