Ukrainian Cinema Days In Munich

MFA: 5 modern Ukrainian films were presented to the visitors. The festival was opened with the movie “Hutsulka Ksenia”, which was presented by director Olena Demyanenko.

With great pleasure, the audience watched Nariman Aliyev’s debut film “Home / EVGE”, which will compete for the award of the American Academy of Film “Oscar” next year. The program included two movies for children – “Foxter & Max” and “Hell’s Horughest or Cossack Christmas”. In Munich, these films were presented by director Anatoly Mateshko, screenwriter Anastasia Mateshko, and producer Evgeny Dyachenko. The Ukrainian Cinema Days in Munich closed with the movie “Wild Field”.

The Consul General of Ukraine in Munich, Yuri Yarmilko, emphasized during the opening ceremony: “Ukrainian Film Days is the starting point for the Ukrainian Film Week in Bavaria. And it’s very important for us that the Ukrainian film industry has become a part of the European cinema industry.

“It is a great pleasure to see how Ukrainian cinema is accepted in the West – with delight, and more sincerely than in Ukraine. Everyone noted that the level of our cinema has increased over the years. The visitors thanked and offered to organize the festival annually”, – commentedDirector-General of the International Film Festival “Molodist” Andrey Khalpakhchi.

The organizers of the Days of Ukrainian Cinema in Munich are Molodist Kyiv International Film Festival with the support of Derzhkino of Ukraine, Manana Palagashvili in cooperation with the director Daria Onishchenko and the Consulate General of Ukraine in Munich.

The Ukrainian Film Days in Munich have become an important part of the Bavarian Week of Ukraine, which will last until the end of November.
