US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will visit Berlin on 7 May to discuss the situation in Ukraine with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Foreign Minister Heiko Maas. This was reported on the website of the US State Department.
Pompeo will conduct visits to Finland, Germany, Great Britain, and Greenland on 5-9 May.
On 6 May, he will arrive in the Finnish city of Rovaniemi, where he will participate in the eleventh meeting of Arctic Council ministers. He will also speak about US policy in the Arctic.
On May 7, he will arrive in Berlin, where he will meet with Chancellor Angela Merkel and Foreign Minister Maas to discuss issues of mutual concern, such as Ukraine, Russia, China, Syria, and the Western Balkans.
On May 8, he will travel to London. There he will meet with Prime Minister Theresa May and Foreign Secretary Hunt to discuss shared global priorities. He will also give a speech on the U.S.‑UK Special Relationship.
On May 9, he will travel to Nuuk, Greenland, to meet with Greenlandic Premier Kim Kielsen, Danish Foreign Minister Anders Samuelsen, and Greenlandic Foreign Minister Ane Lone Bagger. They will discuss shared priorities in the Arctic and opportunities for expanded engagement with Greenland. He will also visit Kangerlussuaq to meet members of the New York Air National Guard who provide vital support for international Arctic research.
