Ministry of Foreign Affairs establishes an emergency headquarters to protect Ukrainians abroad

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs opened a headquarters to coordinate the work of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, relevant authorities and international organizations in order to protect individuals abroad and provide up-to-date information about the situation with Covid-19.

According to Dmytro Kuleba coronavirus spreading rapid and emphasized the role of the MFA in this situation: “Coronavirus is very dangerous. The Foreign Ministry, however, is supposed to guarantee the safety of our citizens. Therefore, today I have created the Foreign Ministry’s headquarters and online information pages. First of all, to ensure that our citizens, wherever they are, receive the necessary information. Secondly, so that every citizen of Ukraine could feel protected by state. I am personally in charge of the headquarters”, – the Minister said.

Besides, the team includes the Foreign Ministry’s State Secretary, director of the consular service department, director of the department of international organizations, directors of territorial departments, the Foreign Ministry’s press secretary and other ministry officials.

The Foreign Ministry also created dedicated pages in social media in order to provide relevant information about the work of the headquarters and COVID-19The Foreign Ministry, however, is supposed to be prompt to guarantee the safety of our citizens. Therefore, today I have created the Foreign Ministry’s headquarters and information pages. First of all, to ensure that our citizens, wherever they are, receive the necessary information on time and avoid unreliable sources. Secondly, so that every citizen of Ukraine could feel that they are protected by Ukrainian state, which will provide the necessary support and assistance. I am personally in charge of the headquarters”, – the Minister said.
