Germany to provide Ukraine with 25.5 million EUR for the construction of housing for internally displaced persons

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted an agreement with the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany on cooperation in the implementation of the project “Housing for internally displaced persons”.

According to the Agreement, EUR 2,500,000 will be allocated for the implementation of the project “Housing for internally displaced persons”. The purpose of the project is to provide accommodation for Ukrainian citizens who were forced to leave their homes due to the armed aggression of the Russian Federation.

Oleksii Reznikov, Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories, has been appointed as the official representative of Ukraine to sign the Agreement.

“We attempt to do our best to ensure that the budget of Ukraine provides funds to support our citizens who were forced to leave their homes in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, in Crimea because of the actions of the Russian Federation. Despite the “quarantine” budget reductions in other ministries, according to the results of the sequestration, we have saved 20 million UAH for co-financing for the purchase of housing for IDPs and 20 million UAH for compensation for the damage caused by the armed aggression of the Russian Federation. The support of our foreign partners, especially in regard to issues related to the armed aggression of Russia, is very important for us, we highly appreciate it,” said Deputy Prime Minister Oleksii Reznikov.
