The German ambassador to Ukraine, Anka Feldhusen, hoped that the new government would open the agricultural land market for German farmers. She said this in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.
The ambassador referred to the example countries where the purchase of land by foreigners was reasonably restricted and regulated.
“I know that this is a very sensitive reform for Ukrainians. I heard that President Zelenskyy mentioned the need for a referendum on this issue. I can understand it. But I also hope that, for example, German farmers, who have been working here for a long time, will have an opportunity to buy the land,” Feldhusen said.
She also noted that the land market will stimulate the economy.
