The Foreign Ministry of Ukraine informed that Ukrainian foreign diplomatic institutions would work under a special mode within six days (from 15 to 20 March).
“The special working mode is not about closing our embassies and consulates. It is only a temporary protective measure for the diplomatic service staff and the possibility to switch to online and remote service wherever it is possible. The workload is incredible, we don’t have enough resources available everywhere for it. But nevertheless, we do our best to solve problems efficiently,” said Dmytro Kuleba.
Foreign Ministry’s hotline for Ukrainians abroad operates without any changes. In addition, individuals can address the diplomatic service employees for information via e-mail.
“Ukraine protects all Ukrainian citizens domestically and internationally. This includes, for instance, our colleagues from the diplomatic service. Unfortunately, we have already registered the first case incident (ed. COVD-19) involving a diplomat in one of the countries of the world. Foreign diplomatic offices temporarily switch to a remote mode of work in order to be able to assist Ukrainians around the world “, – said the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba.
