Bundestag: Omid Nouripour (BÜNDNIS 90/ DIE GRÜNEN), Chairman of the German-Ukrainian Parliamentary Group, will lead the members Siemtje Moeller (SPD), Dr. Anton Friesen (AfD), Stephan Thomae (FDP), Kathrin Vogler (DIE LINKE) and Frank Steffel (CDU/CSU) on their trip to Ukraine from 20 May to 24 May 2019.
The aim of the trip is to intensify and focus on the numerous existing bilateral contacts between parliamentarians. Furthermore, considering the current situation of Ukraine, a strong indication of the partnership between the German Bundestag and the Verkhovna Rada is to be sent out, especially with regard to the reforms now inevitable for Ukraine.
The parliamentary group will meet with the NGO “Reanimation Package of Reforms” to discuss this issue. The delegation will also hold talks with the President and Prime Minister of Ukraine, the Foreign Minister, Members of Parliament and high-ranking representatives of the business community and the judiciary. Meetings with representatives of German political foundations and local politicians from Lviv are also planned.
