President: Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Ukraine Anka Feldhusen while visiting “Mystetskyi Arsenal” told about possible options of cooperation between Ukraine and Germany in the field of development of an inclusive and barrier-free environment, provided by the international “Biarritz Partnership”.
Ukraine announced its intention to join the “Partnership”, launched by the G7 countries to promote gender equality, back in December last year.
Anka Feldhusen noted how important the goal of the Biarritz Partnership is and welcomed Ukraine’s decision to join the international partnership for equal opportunities for everyone. Anka Feldhusen emphasized that Germany is ready to support Ukraine on the way to the implementation of the Biarritz Partnership. She also noted that projects to prevent domestic and gender-based violence had already been implemented in the country.
Ukraine’s ratification of the Istanbul Convention, an international agreement of the Council of Europe on violence against women and domestic violence. Ukraine signed the Istanbul Convention back in 2011, but has not yet ratified it.
